UK Meet Up - Birmingham - 6th October 2019

Hi everybody,

It's been a while since the last Birmingham Feabie meet up, but since there were requests to hold one, I decided to take the plunge and organise it myself. Originally it was meant to be something small scale as there's also a Leeds meet happening later in the month, but it seems quite a few of you are fond of Birmingham and might even do both. Our usual spot in Spoons is good for around 15-20 people, so I'll try to book for that many if possible, and we'll improvise the rest by magpieing chairs from nearby.

Some people inevitably flake on the meets for various legitimate reasons, but please don't click attending unless you're really sure you can come. Just so I've got an accurate view of numbers.

Sunday 6th October 2019

Figure of Eight Wetherspoons, Broad Street, Birmingham

From 1pm onwards (no set end time)

Tips & Misc Details:

- For those looking to stay overnight at a hotel, Birmingham Central Travelodge on Broad Street is a good bet. It's very close to the Wetherspoons, and at the time of writing is only £32 a night.

- Broad Street is currently undergoing a lot of building work, so if you're walking from New Street Station there might be a few complications getting around. A taxi should be able to get you there easily enough, though.

- Similarly, if you're driving to the location I'm not sure about the state of parking in the immediate area and you'll have to figure that out for yourself, sorry.

- Doesn't look like there are any local football games on, nor are any of the Birmingham teams playing, so hopefully Spoons is pretty chill.

- Having the Wetherspoons app is usually a good idea if you don't want to have to get up and go to the bar.

- Fats and superfats get seating priority.

Be aware that a day or two before the event I'll be confirming who is still coming, and kicking those who aren't from the group. Nothing personal, just ensuring security as inevitably people will be sharing details like locations, room numbers, etc.
